ISKANDAR MALAYSIA – ROAD PROJECTS PACKAGE 3A AND 3B

The Government of Malaysia through the Jabatan Kerja Raya plans to improve the competency of the existing junctions at Jalan Abu Bakar, Jalan Sg. Chat and Jalan Yahya Awal along Jalan Lingkaran Dalam Johor Bahru in the district of Johor Bahru, Johor Darul Ta’zim. With the advent of lskandar Malaysia, lskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) was given the responsibility to spearhead catalyst developments in the area including all key infrastructure projects.

SMHB was awarded one of the six road projects identified; Project 3-Construction of elevated interchanges along Johor Bahru Inner Ring Road (JBIRR). The project is divided into 2 packages:

Package 3A: Jalan Yahya Awal Interchange

Detailed design and construction supervision for construction of an elevated bridge over the existing signalised Jalan Yahya Awal/JBIRR junction.

• Dual two-lane carriageway bridge crossing Jalan Yahya Awal/JBIRR.

Package 3B: Jalan Abu Bakar Interchange

Detailed design and construction supervision for construction of an elevated Jalan Abu Bakar Interchange and associated works.

• A Trumpet Interchange for JBIRR traffic turning east and west to Jalan Abu Bakar with a split ramp to the future Central Malaysian Properties Sdn Bhd’s development.
• Dual two-lane carriageway multi­span viaduct crossing Jalan Sg. Chat/JBIRR.
• Single-lane elevated ramp for traffic from Jalan Abu Bakar turning to JBIRR.
