PANTAI 2 SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT

BEWG (M) Sdn Bhd has submitted Design and Build proposal for the expansion of the existing Pantai Sewage Treatment Plant in Kuala Lumpur and the proposal was accepted for implementation by the Government of Malaysia. SMHB was engaged as the local M&E Consultant for the project.

The Pantai 2 STP is Asia Pacific’s biggest STP and Malaysia’s first fully underground facility with a 12 hectares community centre above the STP containing sports and recreational facilities.

The Pantai 2 STP that will ultimately cater for 1.8 million population until 2035 adopt green policy promoting sustainable living environment via low energy consumption, low pollution and low emission. Measures such as rainwater harvesting, use of bio-gas and solar panels to generate electricity and other green technology initiatives are applied to the Pantai 2 STP project.

The plant is designed to comply with the Environmental Act 1978 for Standard A effluent discharge.
