CADANGAN MEMBINA PAIP PEMBETUNGAN BAGI KAWASAN SI-RUSA, PORT DICKSON, NEGERI SEMBILAN

DESCRIPTION

The Government of Malaysia through its agency Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) embarked on this Project with the aim of improving the coverage ratio of sewerage services as well as improving the environment. SMHB was appointed by the client as the consultant engineer.

Currently the catchment is only partly sewered. There are four public sewage treatment plants (STP) serving the housing areas for a total population equivalent of about 9,500 PE. The remaining areas within the development, including those along the coastal development are either served by private STPs or by individual septic tanks (ISTs).

The project involves sewer extension and rationalisation of public sewage treatment plants within the Sunggala catchment (8.34 sq km) to improve sewerage services in a prime tourist attraction site. About 8 km new trunk sewer will be laid and 4 sewage treatment plants (between 285 PE and 3,600 PE) were rationalised, that is possibly converted to pumping stations or decommissioned.

The proposed sewer extension aims to convey the sewage from the catchment to the trunk sewer at the adjacent Sunggala catchment, which eventually be conveyed to the network pump station in Si Rusa Sunggala.

The Consultant’s scope covers review of existing reports, soil investigation, topographical and utility detection surveys, hydraulic flow profiling modelling, concept and detail design, tender documentation and evaluation, HAZOP study and construction supervision.
