Future Water Demands: Emerging Dependency on Inter-State Water Transfer Schemes in Peninsular Malaysia

ABSTRACT

The uncertainty regarding to source of future water supply have made Water Supply Authorities to look beyond their state borders for the use of larger nearby rivers as potential transfer schemes. Water resources availability in terms of runoffs for each state and water utilization ratios is developed to illustrate the disparity of both water demand and supply scenarios in Peninsular Malaysia.
